We exist to discuss recipes and food. We share tips and help one another. It’s all about good vibes and friendliness here. So let’s keep it welcoming for all.
There is an expectation of courteous, friendly behavior and language from all users in these forums. Users of all ages, walks of life, cultural backgrounds and cooking skills visit and contribute in these forums.

With that said, our forums have simple guidelines of etiquette for everyone contributing to the discussions.

1. No Hate Speech: Avoid any form of hate speech, discrimination, or offensive language.
2. Search Before Posting: Check if your question or topic has already been discussed. Avoid duplicate threads.
3. No Spamming: Don’t flood the forum with unnecessary posts or advertisements. Keep it genuine and on-topic.
4. Be Patient: If you ask a question, give others time to respond. Avoid bumping your own posts excessively.
5. Use Private Messaging Appropriately: Avoid spamming or harassing others through private messages.
6. Avoid Caps Lock: Typing in all capital letters is often interpreted as shouting. Use it sparingly.
7. Respect Moderator Decisions: If a moderator takes action, accept it even if you disagree. Contact them privately if needed.
8. Follow Copyright Laws: Don’t post copyrighted material without permission.
9. Stay Informed: Be aware of any forum updates, announcements, or changes in rules.
10. Have Fun: Lastly, enjoy your time on the forum, and help create a positive and engaging community!

As mentioned, most of this would be considered just simple forum etiquette. Are people going to get banned for using all caps? No. Is your account going to be restricted because you asked a question that’s been asked before? No. Should you be afraid if you went off topic? No. If you bully a member or engage in hate speech in the forums, should you expect immediate intervention? Yes.

We ask that you make an effort to adhere to these guidelines so LuvMyRecipe administration staff here doesn’t have to intervene. Please and Thank You.
